Seismic Engineering Toolkit is the first app of its kind which calculates the Seismic Response Coefficient (Cs) and Building Seismic Design Category per ASCE 7-10 Chapters 11 and 12. This tool will allow structural engineers to perform this calculation wherever they are with their iPhone or iPad device. Additionally, the app can also lookup the maximum Ss and S1 values for project zip code saving the user additional time. S1 and SS values are taken from USGS published values for ASCE 7-10. No longer will engineers need to rely on maps or access to USGS online tools to determine these values.
User inputs and calculations are also provided which allow the user to validate the results separately, or follow along to better understand the code required procedure. Whether used for training, or to supplement a practicing engineers services, this tool will be a valuable addition to any structural engineers practice.
